Working at Height Risk Assessment Planning Guide for Schools
HSE provides a general risk assessment template, but it cannot identify the hazards and controls for a particular school, task or item of equipment. Those decisions must be based on the work actually being planned.
This downloadable guide helps school premises teams work through that process. It includes working-at-height questions to consider, a blank assessment record, an optional 5 × 5 scoring matrix and portable-ladder prompts.
It is guidance, not a completed risk assessment or permission for work to begin. The school’s competent person must complete and approve its own site- and task-specific assessment. Enter your details below to download the guide.
