This past weekend, I attended the local school fair and was struck by the strong sense of community. The event was vibrant, with various stalls run by students showcasing their crafts and games. Families enjoyed school-made treats, participated in craft activities, and mingled together, creating a warm and friendly atmosphere.
Several local businesses had a presence, with one even sponsoring the event. A suggestion box for feedback was a nice touch, showing the school’s genuine interest in community input.
The highlight of the day was the school choir’s performance, especially as my daughter was among the singers. Her participation made the experience even more special for me.
While wandering around, I noticed that the school had renovated a large outbuilding that had required some fixing up, as it had been quite disused. Earlier in the year, the school had adopted Statlog, my school premises management platform. It was good to see they were putting it to good use already.
You see, Statlog has a project manager tool that helps schools manage projects effectively, first by determining whether they need a consultant and, if deemed competent, they simply follow the safety milestones. I was speaking to the head, whom I had met amidst the negotiations. She was pleased, and the tool had helped them in securing a budget for the work from the COO.
So if you have an improvement to-do list for your school or group, perhaps some preparation for a community event, consider adopting a project management tool. It not only helps you stay compliant and ensure safety but also allows you to prioritise and manage critical projects efficiently, ensuring that even with tight funds, the most essential needs are met first, with any remaining resources used for long-overdue improvement jobs.
